Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
1. Who we are
SharpAnswer is a brand and product of EasyComp, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("EasyComp," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use SharpAnswer (the "Service").
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@sharpanswer.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide and improve the Service.
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed), and any profile details you choose to add.
- Billing information: payment card or bank details, billing address, and transaction history. Payment card numbers are handled directly by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers.
- Content you upload: scripts, slides, notes, job descriptions, and other practice material you choose to share with the Service.
- Audio recordings and transcripts: when you practice out loud, we process your voice recording and the resulting transcript to generate AI feedback.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team or feedback you submit.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data: features used, exercises completed, timestamps, progress metrics, and general interaction patterns.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referring URLs, and crash reports.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 10.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and personalize the Service, including generating AI feedback on your practice;
- Track your progress and keep your account state in sync across sessions;
- Process payments and manage your credit balance;
- Communicate with you about your account, security, and product updates;
- Diagnose problems, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the Service's quality and safety;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. How AI processing works
When you use an AI-powered feature, your inputs (such as uploaded material, written practice, or audio recordings and transcripts) are sent to our AI service providers so they can generate the feedback you requested. We select providers that contractually commit, at a minimum, not to use your inputs to train their general-purpose models.
We do not sell your content, and we do not use Your Content to train general-purpose AI models for third parties without your explicit consent.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the limited ways below:
- Service providers: cloud hosting, AI model providers, payment processors, analytics providers, email providers, and customer-support tools that work on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Legal and safety: when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of EasyComp, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if EasyComp is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
- With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time, with your permission.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can delete your account at any time; after deletion, we remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it (for example, for tax, accounting, or legal reasons).
7. Security
We use technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our security practices. No system is perfectly secure, however. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete your account and personal information;
- Export a copy of your information;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent you previously gave (without affecting prior processing).
You can exercise most of these rights directly in your account settings or by emailing privacy@sharpanswer.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the rights described above plus the right to know the categories of personal information we have collected and shared, the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to limit use of sensitive personal information. To exercise these rights, email privacy@sharpanswer.com.
EEA, UK, and Swiss residents
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing include your consent, performance of a contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests (such as operating and securing the Service). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided information to us, email privacy@sharpanswer.com and we will delete it.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how the Service is used, and improve performance. You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may limit your ability to use the Service.
11. International data transfers
EasyComp is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.
12. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We recommend reading their privacy policies before providing information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will give reasonable notice (for example, by posting the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date, or by notifying you in-app or by email). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes acceptance of it.
